| ...From the few to the many - five in fact - with reference to Hope For Agoldensummer and at least 80 with reference to the swelling crowd. Hope plays around with a lovingly composed, organic, traditional-Euro-folk-cabaret new-age-pop blend, containing the sweetest of lights and the coolest of shades. The Campbell sisters (Claire and Page) sound great together and have a true sibling dynamic as well as an infectious energy and humor - it spreads throughout the band. Drummer Jamie Shepard plays so quietly, so well. Will Taylor plays cello movingly. It's topped off with the guitar, accordion, xylophone and shop-counter-bell of Deb Davis. Fabulously soulful, poetic and sensual. Double encore! -Ben Gerrard |
